If you're going to make an erotic thriller, you really have to be prepared to go all the way, and director Marcel Langenegger clearly isn't. The story of a timid man, Jonathan (Ewan McGregor), who joins a sex club and finds true love, Deception is so short on skin that Jonathan might as well have taken up baking or ikebana. Why make a movie about a sex club if you don't want to show people having sex? It's like making a gongfu movie where everyone sits down to settle their differences over glasses of lemonade.
The story starts off with Jonathan meeting a handsome and charming lawyer, Wyatt (Hugh Jackman), who indoctrinates him into a high-end sex club for attractive executives. Jonathan has his fun banging hot strangers (of course we don't get to share in his fun), and then decides to settle down with a pretty blond he knows only as "S" (Michelle Williams), who might be up to no good, and who never once gets her kit off. As for extras, there's really nothing. -JJ
