Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey reunite (their last was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) for this frivolous treasure-hunting flick. McConaughey is Finn, an absent-minded treasure hunter obsessed with the prospect of finding Spanish gold in the Caribbean. Hudson plays his newly-divorced and exasperated wife Tess, who works for elderly millionaire Nigel (Donald Sutherland). Somehow, Finn manages to convince Nigel to invest in his quest and Tess, lured by the call of treasure, unwillingly partners Finn to look for the elusive gold. The story follows a predictable formula: the squabbling couple rekindle their love; they find the treasure with baddies in hot pursuit; and a ditzy rich gal is thrown into the mix. There’s eye-candy aplenty, thanks to the camera-friendly leads. And the location ? Queensland stood in for the Caribbean ? is a stunner to behold, which makes you long for a dive in the Great Barrier Reef. -Joanne Soh
