So you carried around a Snoopy water bottle in primary school, and even had a T-shirt with Charlie Brown's "Oh, brother" expression on it. But you ain't no true Peanuts fan until you've watched one of its classic TV specials! In It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, the Peanuts gang prepares for Halloween "tricks and treats" while Linus, a firm believer in The Great Pumpkin, waits out in the pumpkin patch for his hero to arrive. (And no, Jack Skellington doesn't make an appearance.)
Despite being just 25 minutes long, this cartoon is positively delightful Linus carries his blankie around, Shroeder bangs out tunes on his little piano, and Snoopy does his Red Baron ace pilot routine in one of the most amazing animated sequences ever. We're happy to report that Snoopy and his friends are still funny, cute and more sarcastic than we ever remembered! For extras, there's a short behind-the-scenes look at the animation process, and a couple of trailers for upcoming kids' movies; they've even thrown in the TV special, It's Magic, Charlie Brown. -LT
