Very badly received upon its theatrical release, The Clone Wars actually works much better as a DVD on the small screen: the somewhat spare graphic look comes across less spare, and the cartoony character designs seem more at home.

Set between Episodes II and III, The Clone Wars focuses on Jedi General Anakin Skywalker’s efforts to rescue Jabba the Hutt’s kidnapped son in order to secure his favour and keep important trade routes open. Along the way, Anakin must mentor his new padawan apprentice, Ahsoka, whose incessant yammering is only tolerable because she’s hot.
